A bit about me
I am a warm, compassionate and curious therapist who is interested in understanding your patterns, experiences and way of being in the world. I hold a non-judgemental stance and, if helpful, I will gently challenge areas that may be keeping you stuck. I see therapy as a collaborative process where you are the expert in you and I will bring psychological knowledge, experience and perspective. I aim to work in a way that feels tailored to you, offering choice and adapting to your preferences, needs and way of learning.
For over 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of sitting with people as they make sense of difficult experiences, navigate challenges and move towards meaningful change. I have worked across a wide range of settings including the National Health Service in Scotland, education and charity organisations, and more recently exclusively within private practice. Within the NHS, I worked across both outpatient and inpatient services in mental health and highly specialist medical teams.
I have worked with people experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties, from longstanding and complex difficulties to those seeking a reflective space to better understand themselves and their relationships. I strongly believe the therapeutic relationship is central to therapy and therefore encourage people to find a therapist they feel genuinely comfortable with and understood by.
Alongside clinical work, I have taught at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level, as well as delivering teaching to a range of health professionals including consultant-level medical staff. I have also delivered workshops and presentations at both local and international conferences.
